ABOUT ME

My passion for body image and eating disorder recovery began in college at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln through an activist group. Over the years, this passion has only grown after coordinating awareness weeks, scale smashes, and leading weight-inclusive trainings for on-campus groups.

I continued my graduate education at UNL earning a Masters in Counseling Psychology with a specific focus on eating disorder treatment and intervention. I have worked in various treatment centers ranging from inpatient to outpatient levels of care.

Beyond the therapist chair, I am a true nature lover and adventurist. Getting out for a weekend of camping, kayaking, or hiking with my pup are a few favorites. I cherish time with my large family and close knit friends. As well, I work with 3 incredible women running The Recovery Box. As the Chief Clinical Innovation Officer, I spend my time taking empirically-based therapeutic techniques and turning them into tangible tools to aid in mental health recovery.

I believe recovery is always possible, societal impact is real, and empowerment is crucial for healing. I do my best to ‘walk the talk’, meaning I have been on the other side of things and understand the challenges that come with change. In the end, I always remain curious about myself, the world around us, and the people I work with. My goal as a therapist is never to be ‘right’ but instead be humble and steadfast to helping you grow.
